December 31 - The results were released on December 29 for a poll of 3,000 British women conducted by beauty store, Superdrug, to decide the top 20 beauty icons of the decade. Angelina Jolie came in at number one, edging out Jennifer Aniston at number two.
''Angelina Jolie is not a conventional beauty but her strong character shines through her fabulous features to give her a unique standing in the beauty world," Steve Jebson, a representative for Superdrug, explained.
''It's worth noting that while everyone talks about Angelina's pout, we find that it's her long thick lustrous hair that really makes British women envious, as well as a figure made for red carpet posturing."
Jennifer Aniston is also greatly admired for her beautiful hair and sleek figure. Her popularity in the long-running sitcom, Friends, which ended in 2004, has led her to a successful movie career.
Other women who made the top 20 include Catherine Zeta-Jones, Scarlett Johannsen, Beyonce, Kate Winslet and Eva Longoria.
