Beyonce, Maxwell, top 2009 Soul Train noms

R&B diva Beyonce, nu-soul crooner Maxwell and songwriter-turned-solo perfomer Keri Hilson have each netted four nominations for the 2009 Soul Train Awards. The nominations, which were announced today, have all three competing in the Song of the Year and Record of the Year categories (Beyonce for "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It," Maxwell for "Pretty Wings" and Hilson for "Turnin Me On" with Lil Wayne), while a second matchup between Maxwell and Beyonce looms over Album of the Year. Both are also represented in Best R&B/Soul Artist Male and Female, respectively, while Hilson is pitted against Drake, Ryan Leslie and Beyonce's sister Solange (cue ominous chords) in the Best New Artist category. Meanwhile, Hilson's single "Knock You Down," which features Kanye West and Ne-Yo, also faces off against Keyshia Cole and Monica's "Trust" and Trey Songz and Drake's "Success," among others.

The 2009 Soul Train Awards will take place on Nov. 3 at the Georgia World Congress Center, with actors Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson as hosts, and will be broadcast on Nov. 29 on the new Centric, which is the former BET J.
